'Queste parole di colore oscuro' - 'These words of dark depths' is a single line from Dante’s epic poem, La Divina Commedia, and is our inspiration for this candle. To know our darkness is a way to be guided back to the path of light.
As a tribute to this ultimate Florentine opus, we commissioned Dante's likeness and his fiery temper, into a bespoke wax candle shape that burns in honour of his words and the profundity of his message.
We have emblazoned the word ‘FLAME’ on the back to illuminate dark moments. The candle is accompanied by a copy of Dante’s imagined layout of Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise, so wonderfully featured together.
We recommend burning the candle on a plate so as to carefully enjoy the melting wax and the unique shapes it creates. Entirely hand made by Italian artisans.
