This desktop sized sculpture is an Ode to Dante, to his dark inky words, to his illuminated mind, to the stars which guided him on this visionary way.
Here in the city of Florence, we walk through the same streets that nurtured the creation of Dante’s most famous work, La Divina Commedia. Over 700 years after he lived, he continues to inspire with his poetic words which are intricately entrenched in Italian culture, still so relevant in all of our lives.
Each piece is hand painted with gold paint drippings, a unique way to remind us of his brilliance and how his words keep flowing amongst us. Accompanied by a print of one of Gustave Doré’s sublime illustrations from 1857, the experience of this powerful work becomes visibly tangible.
